The Center has a long history of preparing healthcare professionals and enhancing the skills of clergy in the ministry of counseling and pastoral care. We extend that outreach to our greater community by offering workshops for business professionals, individuals, families and couples on a variety of life issues.

We currently offer three programs:

Since 2000, the Ecumenical Center has collaborated with Methodist Healthcare Ministries to strengthen the community’s care providers. It has been a creative and successful alliance that weaves together commitment with need to strengthen congregational networks and the practice of clinicians across South Texas.

The Ecumenical Center offers the Specialty in Pastoral Counseling course and community-based workshops for clergy and lay leaders in the Rio Grande Valley. These programs were created especially with and for Latino and Latina pastors of South Texas.
