  • expand participants’ ability to assess whether individuals are depressed
  • compare depression with experiences of spiritual desolation
  • expand paraticipant’s abilities to care for those with mild depression or spiritual desolation

  • the general situation of drug abuse in the USA and Latin America
  • traditional models for the treatment of substance abuse
  • current treatment models of substance abuse from a Hispanic perspective
