Director of Finance – San Antonio

The Director of Finance oversees accounting, banking, and data operations of The Ecumenical Center. Responsibilities include financial management, reporting and planning; budgeting; Human Resources; payroll; oversight of Finance, Billing and Front Desk staff; support of grant applications and reports; contribution to special events; and other duties.

This position requires independent work, sound judgement, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and constant mindfulness of how small matters affect bigger operations long term. The Director of Finance works with oversight of the organization’s CEO and Board of Directors, executing responsibilities on behalf of the organization to support its mission.

Core Responsibilities of Position:

The Director of Finance will bring diligence and excellent attention to detail to important facets of the organization, including:

Reporting and Planning

Monitoring the organization’s current financial position, preparing monthly financials for CEO to be presented to Board of Directors indicating P&L, budget performance, cash flow, and changes in investment portfolio. Producing annual budget exceeding $3 million based on historic and present financial data, as well as knowledge from the CEO on objectives and trends expected for coming year.

 

Human Resources

Managing day-to-day operations and HR needs of staff in San Antonio and various satellite offices, completing onboarding of new employees and interns/externs, administering payroll and benefits, contributing to policies and procedures, as well as improving internal processes between employees, departments, and locations.

 

Management of Staff

Leading the organization’s Finance, Billing, and Front Desk staff, ensuring effective collaboration resulting in timely – and quality – financial operations and reporting.

 

Grants

Providing fiscal support for grant applications and reporting. Coordinating quarterly and annual reports on four major grants, involving input from a half dozen members of staff.

 

Special Events

Reporting on annual event revenue and expense, as well as providing contextual financial information about previous years’ events. Attending special events to oversee sale of items, receive donations, and tend to various needs of guests and organizers.

 

Other Duties

Recognizing when needs arise in the organization requiring immediate attention, whether as administrative support, client interface, building management, representation of the organization at a meeting, or completion of any other duties as requested by the organization’s CEO and leadership.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accounting or related field from a nationally-accredited institution of higher education;
  • Have 3-5 years’ relevant finance experience;
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and QuickBooks;
  • Demonstrate clear and professional communication skills (both verbal and written) via phone, email and in-person;
  • Be extremely organized, able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, with follow through on all tasks;
  • Work independently and diligently, including looking for new and improved ways of bringing efficiency to work;
  • Must take direction from the CEO and keep the CEO actively informed.

 

The preferred candidate will:

  • Have 2-3 years’ experience in nonprofit finance;
  • Have 3-4 years’ experience in team management.

Full Time Registered Play Therapist – San Antonio

The Ecumenical Center is looking to hire a full-time, experienced Texas-licensed Registered Play Therapist to join our professional staff and provide play therapy services to children, as well as mental health services to adolescents and adults, which may include individual, parent, family, and group therapies.

Candidates for this position must be:

  • Credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT);
  • Empaneled on major insurance plans (e.g. Humana, Blue Cross, Tricare, United, etc.);
  • Comfortable and confident with technology (for basic clinical use of email, scheduling, and the EMR system);
  • Engaging as a clinician and colleague;
  • Dedicated to meeting the needs of the community as a team member.

 

Preferred candidates for this position will be:

  • Credentialed as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) to assist in training interns and practicum students;
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.

Compensation and benefit package are commensurate with clinical training and experience.
