On July 25 and 26, The Center hosted Camp Wellness, a new program for students 5 – 15 years of age. Over 30 campers participated in the event, making it a tremendous success.
The camp included a variety of programs, including anti-bullying exercises, nutrition and relaxation classes, and self-esteem and coping strategy exercises.
The Center’s Therapeutic Expressive Arts Program took the reins on Camp Wellness and helped create activities for campers, ranging from creating artisan masks and poetry to composing their own music, all in an interactive and educational setting. They even built paper airplanes. It was important for the activities to exercise all modalities so campers could get the most out of their experience.
We thank everyone who helped make Camp Wellness a tremendous success this year. We look forward to holding the event again next summer!
