Marie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor for counseling interns. She received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. She has worked in counseling agencies, schools, chemical dependency treatment programs, and patient psychiatric services. Which gave her the opportunities to provide psychotherapy for adults, adolescents, couples, and families who are striving to cope better with challenging issues in their lives.

Through over thirty-five years of providing counseling and being an educator, she has come to value the spiritual journey she takes with each of her clients. She encourages them to make choices that promote their quality of life and sustain the hope, inner strength, and courage necessary to handle difficulties. During counseling sessions, she establishes a therapeutic rapport with her clients, respecting their indignity of self and need to be heard. She uses the skills and strategies of a variety of counseling theories which include cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies. Marie’s areas of counseling specialties help clients who are striving to cope with issues that involve: grief/loss, addiction, difficult family and couples relationship dynamics, lack of self-confidence, poor self-image, spiritual development, anger issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress, domestic violence, various forms of abuse/bullying, and a variety of mental health disorders.
