Shelby Murphy
Shelby is a solution-oriented counselor working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Her areas of focus include human development and life transition issues, especially among young adults and women. Issues include teen behavior, identity development, failure to launch/life direction, confidence/assertiveness, communication, depression and anxiety, boundaries/codependency, parenting, career and family balance, conflict resolution, loss and bereavement, and spiritual direction/life meaning. She combines a Christian worldview with Socratic questioning, cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and behavioral activation. Shelby received her B.A. from the University of Houston and her M.A. in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. Most notably, she’s the mother of two thriving young adults and has been happily married to her high school sweetheart for more than 30 years.
