The Center for Child & Adolescent Behavioral Testing
To paraphrase Kermit the Frog of Muppet’s fame, “It ain’t easy being green or a kid”. That is certainly true today, possibly more than ever before. The demands of accelerated academics, competency testing with STAAR and other measures, peer pressures, bullying, conflictual families…the list goes on and on, and can have an adverse effect on children and adolescents and their psychosocial development and behavior. Depression, anxiety, anger, withdrawal, sleep disturbance, suicidal feeling and thoughts are frequently seen as an accompaniment to these stressors. Concern for the welfare of the child/adolescent grow within the family, only adding to the overall stressful dynamic.
The Center’s psychological testing and assessment program can be a major ally in understanding the unique, individual response to stress and the impact upon the child/adolescent’s personality and behavior. Referral to The Center may be generated by parent (children <18 yr), physician, psychotherapist, school counselor, or court. A detailed history is gathered through interview and review of any accompanying documentation, and a comprehensive psychometric assessment protocol is developed to answer key questions of etiology and diagnosis. This process enables the development of a strategic, targeted intervention and treatment plan to assist in alleviating the child and family’s concerns and suffering.

The Center for Adult Cognitive and Behavioral Testing
Aging is an ongoing process that brings about changes in our bodies, minds and behaviors. Every new day seems to bring on changes, many of them unexpected or unwanted. Changes in memory, focus, patience, motor coordination are but a few. In addition, these changes may create unnecessary anxiety and worry within the person by having them thinking that normal change isn’t all that normal, and that Alzheimer’s or some other dementia process has begun. Often we find that memory loss, forgetfulness, and other cognitive changes are a byproduct of anxiety, grief, depression, normal stress, or over commitment resulting in overload, and not cognitive decline.
The Center’s psychological testing and assessment program can be a major ally in understanding the unique, individual response to the stress and the impact of aging upon the person’s personality and behavior. Referral to The Center may be generated by self, physician, psychotherapist, family member, or court. A detailed history is gathered through interview and review of any accompanying documentation, and a comprehensive psychometric assessment protocol is developed to answer key questions of etiology and diagnosis. This process enables the development of a strategic, targeted intervention and treatment plan to assist in alleviating the individual and family’s concerns and suffering.
