Still

Watercolor

13″ x 16″

FOR SALE

The development of my art echoes my spiritual journey through life. If I trust the goodness of life, it has always led me to a place of resolution and contentment. Lately, my muse took another twist and is prompting me to release the work to complete itself in an openly ended synergy with all of life where a mystery is still intact. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Carolina Flores

Nuestra Señora with los Stacies de Javier

Watercolor, Inktense Pencils/Aquaboard

22″ x 30″

FOR SALE

The colors in my work are vibrant, pure, fresh from the tube. Going back to west Texas (home) family portraits, highway landscapes and neighborhoods fill my canvases. There in these portraits and landscapes are the stories I want to tell with an emotion of color and line. The flowers are an extension of my love of nature, color, and movement. Whether store-bought or grown in the garden, the brush moves quickly, capturing their dance, before the petals fall.

Back in Time

Intaglio chine-colle

The aesthetic solutions to my art are formal and thematic. My work is conceptualized as part of a series where I focus on survival, maternity, procreation, life and death, rites of passage, and Mexica’s mythology. The female figure has always been present in my work in a metaphorical or lyrical way. I use a variety of media and I believe that some ideas have to be expressed in a figurative manner and others have to be expressed abstractly. I often conceptualize my artwork not only visually, but also with verse and poetry that aids in the transfer of knowledge and power.

Braydon Gold

Double Edged Defense

Steel & Rope

In a profound way, I find clarity and strength through the act of creating.  For me, creating art functions as an effective method of saying what can’t be expressed in words.  Each work of art that I create represents an effort to reveal the hidden thoughts and complex emotions that dwell within me, and symbolizes critical moments of growth and emotional maturation.
