That’s the goal of our nationally recognized trauma-informed care certification program, which has steadily grown in reach and impact. This year alone:
- San Antonio Fire Department’s leadership team is close to completing their level-one certification, with site visits across the city well underway.
- Dozens of local organizations have achieved level-one certification, including faith communities, medical providers, and schools.
- Level-two certification has just begun, with level-three certification soon to follow, focusing especially on childcare settings.
At every level, our training emphasizes a simple but radical shift in thinking. Rather than asking “What’s wrong with you?”, we ask “What’s happened to you?”
That change in mindset can be a powerful force, leading to the creation of safer spaces not just within the organizations themselves but in the lives of everyone they serve. That’s real impact that starts at The Center but reverberates beyond.
